The Women Who Changed Jewelry Forever — and Two Who Changed Us

Volume 14 – Fall 2025

This issue opens with something quieter than a design retrospective: a tribute. Sarah takes a moment to remember two clients who left their mark on everyone at Simms. The fall issue is about the women who shaped jewelry, but it starts with the women who shaped the people who sell it.

From there, it broadens to three designers who genuinely changed what fine jewelry is for: Suzanne Belperron, who refused to sign her work because she believed her style was signature enough; Paloma Picasso, who turned jewelry into emotional dialogue; and Elsa Peretti, who said “style is to be simple” and meant it. Rounded out with an FOPE Q&A for anyone who’s been curious about that particular category of “why won’t it come off?” jewelry.
